The multiplexes are back to fleecing people of their hard earned money, and Bollywood’s out to support, with big stars, expensive costumes, phoren locations, and many many songs!
The box office battle will have lovers Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan fighting it out with Kambakkht Ishk and Love Aaj Kal.
KAMBAKKT ISKH:

One must notice the extra ‘K’ in the name. The story is of a super model, so Kareena gets to juice her super slender figure and gets costume designer Akki Narula to bring in some million and a half pairs of shoes to add the glam touch (this is when I wish I could switch roles, or be her best friend!). And the other half is Akshay Kumar, as a stunt man, so doing what he does best, scaring people with fake suicide attempts!
Basically they FALL IN LOVE!- ishk happens and popcorn must be paid for!
LOVE AAJ KAL:

Firstly, the promos make it look like ‘Jab We Met’, the previous venture by Imtiaz Ali, with Saif’s current girlfriend. Don’t know if was Saif’s Kareena hangover, or Imtiaz’s lack of perspective. Anyways, the protagonists in this movie FALL IN LOVE. Song and dance happens, some running around trees and some running from people…but yah, all about loving, caring and sharing!
NEW YORK:

Kabir Khan is no love hitch-hiker. He has made a movie about Indians living in New York Post 9/11. A ‘more’ movie, where there seems to be a fun element, with a serious touch to it as well!
So we have enough to chill in the multiplexes with eh?

The quintessential footwear for the last monsoon season in Bombay was the BATA jelly bellies for almost all women hitting the road.
http://www.bata.in/catdetail.php?&catItem=2&selId=&action=&techId=&brandId=&size=&price=&art_number=&a_page=14&tipslist=
They were comfortable, pretty looking, and to tough for the Mumbai Monsoons to wreck! You had some half a million (read four to five) colours in them and they were priced at INR 300. A perfect option for all the ladies who couldn’t do beyond letch at the Stella McCartney Gumboots! Or the ones who just bought them for the comfort!
But how many of us knew where this magic design came from?
Well, some surfing on the internet, some help from our friend in need-VOGUE and lots of time on hand led me to Gisele Bundchen’s shoe brand IPANEMA flip flops.
She has the same shoe with some cooler versions as well.

Well I guess we should be happy that we’re making super cool and cheap fakes, and upping the general style quotient of this country!
